Ioana Stefanescu, Ph.D. 

Hi, I’m Ioana, an Earth Scientist and a proud Mother living in North Carolina with my husband and son. We moved to Charlotte in 2023, and while it’s been an exciting chapter, transitioning to life as a new mom in a big city wasn’t without its challenges. I quickly realized how hard it can be to find a community, figure out where things are, find family friendly locations, and access information.

After some digging, I was lucky enough to find a wonderful postpartum group, Baby&Me, where I connected with other new parents and slowly started to build my support network. But I know firsthand how difficult it can be when you're trying to find those connections and resources on your own. One major hurdle I encountered was finding childcare. Despite all my searching, many childcare options just weren’t visible on map apps and were only shared by word-of-mouth within the community.​

 

This experience led me to combine my passion for data science and coding with my desire to give back to the community by making parents' lives easier. ​

I know how overwhelming it can be to become a parent , juggle family life and settle into a new place, so I created this platform with one simple mission: to give you the information I didn’t have when I started my motherhood journey.
